There was a thief who hid in shade.
He stole all that you owned.
With long ebon locks and dark eyes.
Love’s seed is often sown.

Stealing for his personal gain.
With nimble feet he crept.
Noise always seemed to disappear.
In theft, he was adept.

One time he met a man, his name
Was Constantine. Asked him
To steal a gemstone called The Eye.
Into the quarter grim.

Fighting through hordes of the undead.
And through orange lizards too.
Coming upon the cathedral,
Barred path, hole with a view.

Then the gemstone began to speak.
Instructing him to find,
The lost grotto of The Keepers,
Teachers left far behind.

Keys of earth, air, fire, water
Had to be found. Mages
In their fortress locked deep away,
Was earth, locked in cages.

Next was fire, hidden deep in the
Lost City. Ruins, beasts,
He nearly became the very
Odd creatures’ human feast.

Water, in a lady’s manor
Made its home. Stealing it
Was easy, as the thief found. Guards
Were easy to outwit.

Fourth was air, in the church of the
Hammers. Wielding their mauls
Fanatics could cause the thief’s death.
Disguise used to steal all.

Talismans were found so back to
The cathedral, using
Talismans as keys, stealing the
Eye and left on a wing.

Giving the stone back to the man
He was soon betrayed, right
Eye torn from his skull, to power
Up the stone. Overnight

He was left to be food, found by
Keepers who set him free.
Strange bedfellows were made. Hammers,
They made his right eye see.

Into the Maw, to steal from the
Trickster God, the one that
Betrayed. Replacing the stone with
A large bomb. Like a rat

He escaped to view the Trickster’s
Death. Vengeance was repaid,
Now to pay the rent. Told that the
Chosen path had been laid.

The proud thief did not care about
A prophecy, all he
Knew was that he must find a job.
The thief needed money.
